She starts to study at her new highschool Sunnydale High where she met school librarian Rupert Giles. He tells her the same, that she is the chosen one as vampire slayer. Rupert's job as librarian is a cover whose task it is to train her as vampire Slayer. She becomes good friends with the nerdy Willow Rosenberg, the hapless Xander Harris, the popular cheerleader Cordelia Chase, the seemingly "good" vampire named Angel and they are along with Rupert collectively known as the affectionately "Scooby Gang". They notice that there is a "Hellmouth" gateway between the real world and the demon dimension is hidden under Sunnydale, which has a huge attraction over evil.
